The Red Kite Challenge is an established, annual series of running and walking events with the profits going to support our local hospital.
Events include: a senior ½ marathon; a 10k trail race; a non-competitive walk; and junior U20, U17, U15 trail races. For the fifth consecutive year we are honoured to have been given the responsibility to hold the Welsh Junior Trail Running Championships, so all the junior runners will be challenging for Welsh Championship medals.
The ½ marathon and junior races will also be the West Region's trail running championships for 2017.
There will be prizes for seniors and masters in five year age groups in both the ½ marathon and 10k and team prizes for the half marathon. There will also be a memento for all finishers in each event.
There will be race marshals, feed & water stations, a refreshment tent and first aid provision.
Our event, one of the most scenic trail races in Britain, is held around the spectacular beauty spot of Devil's Bridge which is about 20km East of Aberystwyth in West Wales
Devil's Bridge is famous for its narrow guage railway, the Mynach Waterfalls, the three bridges and 'The Arch' which is the watershed to the river Rheidol and the river Ystwyth. For officionardos of popular culture, the television detective series 'Hinterland' was filmed in the area.
