Registration is now open for Ras y Barcud 2024!
The event, which also includes junior races for ages ranging from under 13 to under 20, along with two senior races, will be held on Saturday 27 April at Devils Bridge, Ceredigion.
Ras y Barcud 1/2 Marathon is the premier trail race in Mid Wales, and will this year once again incorporate the Welsh Trail Running Championships, and also West Wales Trail Running Championships.

Junior races will vary in distances from 3k to 13k, will also incorporate the Welsh and West Wales Championships, therefore the best trail runners in Wales are expected to descend upon Devils Bridge. The under 18s race will also be a trial race for the WMRA International U18 Mountain Running Cup will take place in the Montana Palencia Region, Spain which is held on 22 June (see WMRA International U18 Mountain Running Cup 2024 Selection Policy).
This year we have the options of two races for the seniors, which are the traditional Half Marathon (Ras y Barcud) and also a shorter race, which is this being billed as a metric half marathon (13.1k) for the first time.

Ras y Barcud will again this year be raising money for a local charity, namely both the Chemotherapy Unit and Stroke Ward at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.
If you would like to run Ras y Barcud in aid of Bronglais hospital’s Chemo Unit and Stroke Ward by collecting sponsorship (minimum £50), we can provide you with free entry for the race. Bydd y digwyddiad, sydd yn cynnwys rasys ieuenctid i oedrannau dan 14 i dan 20, ynghyd â dwy ras i oedolion, yn cael ei gynnal ar ddydd Sadwrn 27 Ebrill 2024 ym Mhontarfynach, Ceredigion.
1/2 Marathon Ras y Barcud ydy prif ras trêl Canolbarth Cymru, ac unwaith eto eleni bydd yn cynnwys Pencampwriaethau Trêl Cymru a Phencampwriaethau Trêl Gorllewin Cymru.

Mae’r rasys ieuenctid, sy’n amrywiol mewn pellteroedd o 3k i 13k, hefyd yn cynnwys Pencampwriaethau Cymru a Gorllewin Cymru, felly mae disgwyl i redwyr trêl gorau Cymru o bob oedran dyrru i Bontarfynach.
Bydd y ras dan 18 oed hefyd yn ras i ddewis tîm Cymru ar gyfer Cwpan Rhedeg Mynydd Rhyngwladol dan 18 y WMRA sy’n cael ei gynnal yn rhanbarth Montana Palencia, Sbaen ar 22 Mehefin (gweler Polisi Dethol Athletau Cymru).
Mae opsiwn o ddwy ras ar gyfer yr oedolion ar y dydd hefyd, sef yr Hanner Marathon traddodiadaol (Ras y Barcud) a hefyd ras fyrrach, sy’n datblygu eleni i fod yn hanner marathon ‘metrig’ (13.1k).
